FAQ

Plain-English answers, no mystery sauce.

Common questions about affordable UK web design, answered straight.

Cheap as Chips is meant to feel straightforward. That only works if the boring practical stuff is clear too.

  • Pricing, scope, timings, revisions, hosting, and add-ons
  • Written in plain English for normal business owners
  • No ranking guarantees, mystery retainers, or magic beans
Are the prices fixed?

They are public ranges with tight caps. The quote depends on the actual scope, but the point is to keep the pricing honest and the service productised. If you want the rough fit first, the small business websites and refreshes pages spell the routes out more plainly.

When does the turnaround clock start?

Once the deposit is paid and the core content is in. If the project is waiting on missing photos or approvals, the timeline waits too.

What counts as extra work?

Extra pages, heavy copywriting, bigger rewrites, new features, ecommerce, booking systems, and anything outside the agreed scope are quoted separately before they are added. In other words, if the job starts sounding more bespoke than budget, it probably is.

How many revision rounds do I get?

Launch includes 1 revision round. Standard and Growth include 2 rounds. Monthly care is for small ongoing edits, not redesigns.

Do you sort hosting and domains?

Help is available, and simple hosting starts from £4.99 a month. We keep hosting and domain costs separate so the build quote stays honest. Domain email setup is also an add-on unless we agreed otherwise.

What if I stop replying halfway through?

If there's no reply for 14 days, the project might be paused. If it drags past 30 days, it might need rebooking or a fresh quote so the schedule stays fair for everyone else.

Can you guarantee rankings or leads?

No honest developer can guarantee that. My job is to build a clear, tidy, well-structured site with sensible foundations—not sell you snake oil and miracle SEO promises.

Can you set up my Google Business Profile?

Yes. Google Business Profile setup is available as an add-on from £60. Getting it sorted properly means your business shows up in local map results, which matters a lot for trades and local service businesses. It is priced separately from the build and quoted before any work starts.

The examples page shows public work without fake numbers or borrowed success stories. It is there so you can judge the level of clarity and finish for yourself.
